Pregnancy Health Tips


1.Your may notice that your stomach does not deal with some food items during pregnancy. They may include foods that contain fat, fast food, meat, and foods that have a strong odor.
2.You need to drink plenty of water and fruit juice during pregnancy.
3.All foods are not safe during your pregnancy. There are a number of items such as unpasteurized products, certain fish, etc should be avoided. Do a bit of research and compile a list.
4.Never miss a meal, especially breakfast. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. You may learn that if you waited so long to eat, you start to feel sick, your body is telling you to eat,remember that you are eating for two - you and your baby. In fact, the baby takes your nourishments, so you must eat enough for both of you.

5.Try to reduce sweets and replace them with healthier items.
6.Be sure to eat enough food you need every day. Take 4-6 servings of dairy products per day for a healthy pregnancy, which may include milk, cheese and yogurt. This provides the baby with calcium which is needed for bone growth.
7.Do not miss servings of fruits and vegetables. Lots of green is always a good option. They not only give your body what it needs, but give you more energy.
8.Do not be in overweight condition. You do not need to consume more calories than the normal daily intake during your first trimester
9.If you are normal weight when you get pregnant, you should get between 25 and 35 pounds. Limit weight gain to no more than five to 10 pounds during the first 20 weeks and about a pound a week for the remainder of the pregnancy.
10.Eat right during your pregnancy time and prevent future health problems for the child.
11.If you are overweight, try to lose weight before pregnancy. Overweight women have a higher risk of emergency caesarean, gestational diabetes, miscarriage and hypertension.
12.Eating right would have 2 aspects - the type of food you eat and the amount of weight you want.
13.Eat small meals but often.
14.Do not join any weight control program without the advice and consent of your doctor.
15.You need carbohydrate rich diet but take in moderation. A pasta dish is good but three servings of it stewed in white sauce is not
16.If you want to snack, instead of junk processed food, go for salads, fruits, nuts and crackers.
17.Minimize salt and rich sauce during cooking.
18.Use a pillow to keep yourself towards the left side while sleeping. As the inferior vena cava is positioned on the right side, lying on the left side relieves you from the weight of the uterus. In this way the pressure on your veins of your feet and legs is reduced.
